Calculation of Squares : Short-cut Tricks – 3

(29)² = 30 is base and (34)² = 35 is base,

Similarly, last digit is 9 = base is immediately following it, last digit is 4 = base is immediately following it.

We can find the example the squares of numbers which are one less than the numbers whose squares are known already to you.

1. (29)² = (30)² − (30 + 29) = 900 − 59 = 841

2. (39)² = (40)² − (40 + 39) = 1600 − 79 = 1521

3. (79)² = (80)² − (80 + 79) = 6400 − 159 = 6241

4. (34)² = (35)² − (35 + 34) = 1225 − 69 = 1156

5. (54)² = (55)² − (55 + 54) = 3025 − 109 = 2916

6. (94)² = (95)² − (95 + 94) = 9025 – 189 = 8836
